Universal Goals Curriculum for Wales
Your pathway into international teaching
UNIVERSAL GOALS CURRICULUM
Global learning. Local curriculum. Purposeful education.
The Universal Goals Curriculum is now available with units specifically developed for the Curriculum for Wales.
The new curriculum brings together the global themes and real-world learning of the Universal Goals Curriculum with the philosophy, structure and progression of Curriculum for Wales.
UNIVERSAL GOALS CURRICULUM
Learning that connects subjects and the real world
Rather than teaching global issues as an additional subject, Universal Goals units provide meaningful contexts through which children can develop knowledge, skills and understanding across different Areas of Learning and Experience.
Children explore important questions about themselves, their communities and the wider world while developing the skills and dispositions needed to become confident, capable and responsible learners.
Designed for Curriculum for Wales
The units have been developed to support:
- NThe Four Purposes
- NThe Six Areas of Learning and Experience
- NWhat Matters Statements
- NDescriptions of Learning and progression
- NCross-curricular development of literacy, numeracy and digital competence
- NOpportunities for Health and Well-being
- NCreativity, enquiry and critical thinking
- NSustainability, citizenship and global responsibility

UNIVERSAL GOALS CURRICULUM
Helping educators go global with confidence.
With over 20 years of experience in education, I have worked with students, teachers and school leaders across a wide range of international settings. My career has taken me to five countries across four continents, providing first-hand experience of the opportunities, challenges and life-changing experiences that come with working overseas.
I hold an MA in Education (Leadership and Management) from the University of Bath, an MSc in Psychology from the University of Leicester, and I am currently a PhD Candidate researching education and curriculum development.
Having successfully navigated international recruitment, leadership appointments, relocation decisions and life abroad, I understand both the professional and personal considerations involved in moving overseas. My aim is to provide honest, practical and supportive guidance to help educators make informed decisions about their international careers.
“Expert guidance from an experienced international school leader, educator and researcher.”
